Taking Care of A Toothache

Taking Care of A Toothache

Toothache is a common condition that often annoys. There are a number of things that can cause inflammation and this includes dental work, blows to the mouth, chipped or cracked tooth, irregular brushing and flossing, broken filling and many others. What happens is the pulp of the tooth darkens first then you will see the discoloration through the outer layer of a tooth. You may be surprised by the pain that suddenly comes up. It usually feels like an electrical jolt, as with the case of a cracked tooth, the pain may erupt suddenly then stays especially after you've taken in something cold or hot.

Sometimes old injuries that you think is minor may come back then that would be the only time you will realize how much damage there is on the nerve of that tooth. In other cases a tooth on its own and without any signs can become inflamed, hurt and even die. This is very similar to appendicitis, you will never know when it's going to happen then you would need to have a dentist or orthodontist take care of that tooth.

Meanwhile, a slight or dull ache in your may have been caused by the gnashing and grinding that you unconsciously do while you are sleeping. The gnashing and grinding of teeth is usually a sign of tension that can unfortunately lead to toothache. Or toothache can be a symptom of a sinus issue, but it is not easy to find which tooth it is. This takes place because the roots of the upper teeth go all the way into the sinus hence any pressure in there affects the tooth nerves.

Anyway, for painful situations like these a toothache remedy is often in order. But a toothache remedy is more often than not just a bandage solution. If you really want to take care of your toothache, you can go directly to your dentist to solve your problems once and for all. But before doing so, you may want to pop up some ibuprofen to ease that toothache. After all whether a tooth is just injured or dead, you will still feel some inflammatory pain. Ibuprofen is not only to get but has good anti-inflammatory properties to help with that pain. Don't use aspirin or acetaminophen on your toothache these will not be able to do much.

Don't ever ignore a toothache even if it eventually goes away because it will definitely come back and sometimes it can become more painful. When a toothache goes away this usually indicates that the decay or the trauma has killed the nerve. What follows next is a pus-filled abscess that leads to more pain. You might be surprised to wake up one day with a swelling on your face accompanied by severe pain. Never think that just because the pain is gone the tooth is fine.

Knowing all these, remember you have the option on how you should take care of your tooth ache. You can either choose a toothache remedy or have your dentist check on that tooth. The choice is yours

Summer Grilling Made Easy

Summer Grilling Made Easy

Summer is the season our thoughts go to cooking outdoors - grilling.

We are all familiar with cooking meat on the grill - juicy steaks, hamburgers and tangy ribs. But how about some lighter fare?

Here are three lighter recipes for summer grilling - a salmon with citrus flavored sauce, grilled vegetables and a light grilled halibut (or any solid white fish) with a herb and lemon flavored crust.

So any time you are in the mood for something a bit different and a little on the lighter side, try these out.

Grilled Citrus Salmon

1/4 cup honey garlic barbecue sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 teaspoons chopped chives
2 teaspoons melted butter
2 teaspoons honey
1 teaspoon finely grated lemon zest
1/2 teaspoon salt
pepper to taste
hot pepper flakes (optional)
2 pounds salmon fillet, one large fillet or individual portions (works best with one large fillet)

Preheat the grill to medium high and grease well. Pierce a piece of nonstick foil several times and place on a baking sheet. Stir the barbecue sauce with the other ingredients (except the salmon). Put the salmon on the foil, skin side down.

Brush half the sauce mixture over the salmon. Slide the foil on to the grate. Cook, covered, without turning for 15 to 17 minutes or until salmon is cooked but still slightly cook in the center. Brush with the remaining sauce mixture during the last 5 minutes of cooking.

To serve, slice salmon into portions and use a thick metal spatula to remove from the portions from the foil. Leave the skin behind. Garnish with added chives if desired.

Makes 6 servings.

Cedar Plank Version:

Soak an untreated cedar plank in clean water for 2 hours. Place the plank on the grill and preheat for 5 or 10 minutes or until wood begins smoking. Place the salmon on the cedar and proceed as directed above. Use skinless salmon for best results.

Grilled Vegetable Platter

1/2 cup garlic and herb flavor barbecue sauce (or your favorite marinade)
3 tablespoons melted unsalted butter or olive oil
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (or 1 teaspoon of dry)
1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped (or 1 teaspoon of dry)
3/4 pound each of small red and white potatoes
4 cobs corn, cut in half or thirds if larger
1 pound assorted summer squash such as green or yellow zucchini or patty pan squash

Whisk the marinade or barbecue sauce with the butter, parsley and thyme until well combined. Reserve.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Working in batches, blanch the potatoes for about 10 minutes. Blanch the corn for 2 minutes. As the vegetables are finished, use a slotted spoon to transfer them to a large bowl of water to chill. Drain well and pat dry. Toss all the vegetables with the marinade mixture until evenly coated.

Preheat the grill to medium high. Grill the potatoes corn and squash, turning as needed and basting with any remaining marinade. As vegetables become tender, remove from the grill to a warm platter or bowl. Tent the cooked vegetable platter with foil until all vegetables are cooked.

Makes 6 servings.

Grilled Halibut with Lemon-Herb Crust

3/4 cup fresh bread crumbs
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon finely grated lemon zest
salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon butter or margarine
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon fresh tarragon, chopped
1 pound halibut fillets, about 1/2" thick, skin left on
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

In a small bowl, combine bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, salt and pepper. Add butter and toss with a fork to form a crumbly mixture. In another bowl, combine mayonnaise and tarragon.

Arrange the fish, skin side down, on a platter. Spread each fillet with the mayonnaise mixture. Press crumbs mixture onto each fillet.

Preheat barbecue on high for 10 minutes. Reduce the heat to medium-high. Arrange fillets on barbecue skin side down. Lower lid and cook until fish flakes easily with a fork and topping is browned, about 10-12 minutes. Drizzle lemon juice over each fillet and serve immediately.

Makes 4 servings.

Step by Step Process To Writing A Sales Letter

Step by Step Process To Writing A Sales Letter

Image source: http://image.slidesharecdn.com/10amazingstepstowriteaneffectivesalesletter-160307192335/95/10-amazing-steps-to-write-an-effective-sales-letter-1-638.jpg?cb=1457380201

You can write a great sales letter. Sure, you may have to learn some new skills. But keep in mind, the great copywriters of today weren't born writing great sales letters. They started right where you may be--having never written a sales letter. Or maybe you've written a few sales letters, but they have disappointed you. Take heart. In this article, I will show you step by step what you need to put in your sales letters to give them the structure and persuasiveness you may desire.

Every sales letter has a basic structure. Now, each sales letter may insert these basics in different orders or using a different method, but generally all sales letters will include these basics:

Headline: Every winning sales letter should have an attention-grabbing headline, one that draws the reader into your sales letter. If they don't read your letter, they won't buy your product. They must read the sales letter first.

Make your headline exciting. What will your product do for the user? For example, if you sell a product that helps the user find discount travel packages, a few strong headlines could be:

How to Travel Like the Rich on a Pauper's Income

How to Travel for Less than Half-Price

Travel the World for Less than Traveling Locally

How I Travel Everywhere For Half-Price

Try to write some similar headlines for your product. Simply substitute your product and benefit for the keywords in those headlines. Try to write 20 or 40 or so headlines---some of them will be lousy, but some of them may surprise you. One thing about writing is that you will get more creative and efficient as you spend more time writing. Practice, practice, practice.

Benefit Bullets:

These bullets will be key points about your product. For example, if you are selling a product geared towards grade school teachers, your bullets might be:

Learn to manage your classroom with no effort Discover the keys to teaching vocabulary at any level How to teach math so that students learn the fastest What every teacher needs to know about discipline

Notice that these bullets promise a benefit to the reader. Bullets are designed to draw the reader to purchase the product, so that they can receive the benefits of the product. These bullets reveal the benefits to the purchaser.

Guarantee: Especially when selling online, you must include a specific guarantee. Online purchasers are already skeptical of purchasing an information product. By offering a money-back guarantee, you assure the buyer that if the product isn't what you say it is, they can receive a refund. Your responsibility, of course, is to make absolutely sure that the product does everything you say that it does. If you do that, you will have few returns. Here is an example of a guarantee: Your complete satisfaction guaranteed: If for any reason during the first 30 days after you purchase this product, you are not completely satisfied for any reason at all, simply return the product and we will cheerfully refund your purchase price, no questions asked.

Obviously that guarantee should be modified to meet the nature of your product, and the time frame altered. By having the guarantee, although you will have to give a refund from time to time, you should sell far more units than without the guarantee.

Close and ask for the sale: This step is critical! No matter how good a job you do describing the product, it will not sell itself. You MUST ask for the sale. Tell the customer to buy. Give them an easy link to your order or shopping page. If you don't ask for the sale, you won't sell much.

Try to write your first sales letter using this template. Write comfortable, as if you were talking to someone at lunch. A sales letter should be easy to read and feel like a friend discussing the product. It should not have stilted or awkward language, but should flow naturally---just write the way you would talk about your product.

Steamed Vegetables On The Barbecue Grill

Steamed Vegetables On The Barbecue Grill

BBQ salads are the easy accompaniment to an outdoor cookout and do work really well because theres many free barbecue recipes out there on the internet but sometimes I like my menu ideas to be a little different. In fact, not just different, something that can become a bit of a talking point too.

My inspiration comes from cooking corn cobs. When doing them on the barbecue grill its important to soak the husks for a good 30 minutes in water so that when heat is applied the leaves steam and cook the kernels. Having tried the corn over charcoal idea a couple of times, sparks of inspiration started to fly in all directions as I thought about how we might steam other vegetables on the outdoor barbecue grill. No sooner had I tried the base concept and the barbecue menu ideas came thick and fast.

Essentially were going to steam the vegetables in foil packs and the real beauty of cooking this way is that you can put the foil packs on the grill while the charcoal is still settling down and because of the foil protection theres no chance to burn the food. By the time the vegetables are cooked, the charcoal is ready for the meat, do the remainder of the cookout and while the meat is resting for five minutes simply slap the foil parcels back on to warm through.

Lets take carrots as an example. Take a rectangular piece of foil, chop the carrots finely and place them in one half of the foil rectangle. Season with salt and pepper and fold the foil over and scrunch the sides together just leaving a hole at one point where we can add water. Pour in half a cup full of water and make the final scrunch to seal the package. Slap it on the grill and 15 minutes later youve got beautifully delicious steamed carrots. A knob of butter and Bobs your uncle!

The same logic can be applied to many vegetables so why not experiment? The only thing to remember is to slice the vegetables thinly so that theres a good surface area for the steam to work on.

For an easy variation on the theme, rather than water, why not try a little dry white wine? It adds and certain je ne sais quoi to the recipes and sure makes for some interesting questions when your guests see you filling foil parcels from a wine bottle. They really know that theyre in for a treat!

Alternatively how about potatoes? Again, slice them thinly, place them on one half of the foil and season, now add a tablespoon of crme fraiche and start the scrunching. Finish off by pouring a good lug of white wine before sealing the parcel and then its onto the grill. Youll need to be a little more careful with this menu idea because too much heat can burn the cream so be a little gentler with the cooking and go for about 30 minutes cooking time.

One last tip - its also great to make individual packages so that everyone can rip into their own parcel and enjoy. It also makes it easy because all we have to do as the chef is throw a foil parcel onto each plate hows that for presentation?

Some Simple Tips But Still Useful For Cooking

Some Simple Tips But Still Useful For Cooking

One of the best tips that you can follow when you are using oil is to add it to the sides of your pan upon cooking- so when it gets to the food, it is already heated. This will help to maximize the flavor of your food when you are done.

Partially freeze meat to make slicing into thin strips easier. This is ideal for Oriental meals like Chinese dishes or Thai dishes. By partially freezing meat ingredients, slicing is cleaner and the fibers do not stretch and tear as easily. However, be sure to allow the meat strips to thaw before cooking them, for even cooking.

Ensure that your baked fish is moist and tender by cooking "en papillote". This is a French technique that refers to fish baked in a parchment-paper packet. Place the fish and vegetables of your choice in the center of a large piece of parchment-paper. Bring the edges of the paper together, crease them tightly to form a seal, and bake for 10 to 15 minutes at 450 degrees. The fish and vegetables steam in the packet, keeping them moist and tender, and creating a tasty, healthy dish. (Clean-up is just as easy - simply throw away the paper after eating!)

Before you start cooking or baking make sure you have all the ingredients gathered together. This will save you time and prevent cooking mishaps. You'll have a better product in the end.

For stir fry with an authentic Chinese touch, try using their velveting technique! Prepare a mixture of corn starch, egg whites, seasonings and sherry and set your pork, chicken or shrimp in it for about half an hour. Then, blanch it in hot oil or boiling water for shiny, tender and delicious restaurant quality stir fry.

When seasoning your food, remember that it is much easier to add more seasoning if needed, but you cannot take it away if you add too much. That is why it's important to go light when seasoning with herbs and spices. You want to compliment the flavors of the food and not overpower them.

Keep a few cut up, washed, and prepared vegetables in your freezer. This will reduce your prep time when you're cooking a recipe. Onions and peppers are great to freeze. Just buy them fresh, wash and cut them when you have time, and store them in individual zip lock bags.

It is extremely embarrassing to have lumps in your gravy. It happens to everybody from the beginner cook to the master chef. There is a simple trick you can use to eliminate them. Drain the gravy through a fine strainer and discard the lumps. This technique can be used for other sauces or soups too.

Garlic is just one of many tasty ingredients whose flavor has a downside: It transfers to your hands. Rub your hands thoroughly on the interior of a stainless steel sink after working with garlic or other odoriferous cooking ingredients. This will cleanse your hands and prevent the smells from transferring to the food you handle next.

Summary: Recent events like solar and lunar eclipses and the nuclear talks with Iran have biblical significance. What do they signify, or do they have any relevance for us?   Einstein said, Coincidence is God's way of remaining anonymous.
Two weeks ago, we saw a rare solar eclipse falling on the spring equinox accompanied by a supermoon when the moon was as close as possible to the earth. Saturday night we may see a blood moon due to a full lunar eclipse.   So what do such signs mean?   A library would likely have the information and here's where the Spanish language can help us. The word for library in Spanish is bibliotecaBible tech! That's right. The Bible has answers, but sometimes we have to be like a librarian to find them. And the more we use the library, the easier it gets as we become familiar with card catalogues or computer searches.   We can do the same with the Bible. Any word or phrase we want to find in the Bible can be found with the use of an online concordance. For example, if we type sun, moon into a concordance search, it gives 35 results. Because I'm familiar with this library, I find Joel 2:31 helpful:   The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come. The concordance also shows the Hebrew words and what they mean. For example, the word before comes from paniym, meaning face or  in the face of--impending!   But what does the day of the Lord mean? Many people think it means the day Christ comes again, but using the online concordance, we find the phrase 23 times and again Joel has five references to itmore than any other book. Here's an example:   The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark...the day of the LORD is great Joel 2:10,11. The chapter has many other events, but not the 2nd coming. Nevertheless, serious events may be impending.   This week we saw more coincidences. When the US, UK, China, France, Germany and Russia have been concerned for 12 years and been negotiating with Iran for 18 months re a nuclear program that came to a head this week, maybe it's just a coincidence, but what does our libraryBible tech suggest?   The day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night, For when they say, Peace and safety! then sudden destruction comes 1Thessalonians 5:2,3. If we are honest, we would have to characterize those talks as Peace and safety. This could heighten our expectations for serious events. We might not know exactly, but maybe this is the reason for the blood moon.   As Israel put blood on their doorpost and prayed that God would pass over them in judgment, we can believe God is putting blood on the moon--Who else could arrange that phenomena we are seeing?   Why not ask God to pass over us in any judgments that come. It's not just Jewish. Christ did the same, asking his followers to watch and pray. Wouldn't that be a more Christian way to celebrate this time than looking for Easter eggs?   We won't likely hear any voices or see any visions, but people who ask God for things testify that while they don't always get what they want, they are convinced that He's there and sometimes they are later glad they didn't get what [or who] they wanted!   That could also be God's way of remaining anonymous, and for us, it's an opportunity to build character based on choices to include or exclude HimHe leaves the choice to us. After all, if He stood over us with a big stick, forcing us to do it His way, we would have no freedombut He didn't wanted robots, so He the freedom of choice that He gave us.

Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction Pain Management Options

Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction Pain Management Options

If youve never had pain in your sacroiliac joint, you probably have no idea what that is or where it is.  At the bottom of and next to the spine is the sacroiliac joint. It is right above the tailbone and just below the lumbar spine. The sacrum is connected by this to the pelvis (iliac crest).

When somebody is having chronic leg and low back pain, it is often diagnosed as Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction.  The pain in the leg can be difficult to diagnosis as such because it feels similar to sciatica and sometimes the pain is caused by a lumbar disc herniation. If it is the Sacroiliac Joint, pain management is crucial to the person suffering.

Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction treatments, more commonly referred to as SI joint pain, are normally conservative. Done without surgery, the focus is to reinstate normal motion in the SI joint. Some of the typical pain management treatments for pain management are:

    Ice, heat, and rest

Initial pain management treatment will include applying cold packs every fifteen to twenty minutes. This is done to diminish inflammation and the patient is instructed to rest during this time. Dependent upon how intense and sharp the pain, the patient may be advised to continue this treatment for as short as two days and for as long as two weeks.

As the pain eases and the inflammation improves, the patient may be instructed to apply heat in between the cold applications. After inflammation has reduced, the patient can gradually return to their normal activities.

    Medications

Acetaminophen is the first step of pain management treatment that is recommended by most primary care doctors. They may also recommend the patient have a regimen of anti-inflammatory medication like ibuprofen or naproxen. This will reduce any swelling that may be contributing to the patient's discomfort and pain.

    Chiropractic Therapy

The manual manipulation that can be provided by a chiropractor or an osteopathic doctor has been proven to be highly effective for Sacroiliac Joint Dysfunction. This is especially true when the SI joint is fixed into a wrong position. This is accomplished by several different methods that hypermobile the SI joint like blocking technique, drop technique, side-posture manipulation, and methods that are instrument guided.

    Braces or Supports

When the SI joint has slack or is hypermobile, a brace that is approximately the same size of a wide belt  will be wrapped around the patients waist and pulled snug. This stabilizes the area and has proven to be very helpful for inflamed joints.  As the inflammation calms down, the patient will slowly wear the belt less and less.

Exercise and Physical Therapy

To strengthen SI joint muscles, a patient will be recommended to start a controlled and gradual physical therapy. The goal is to not only strengthen the muscles that are around the sacroiliac joint Abut increase the range of motion too. A gentle and low impact aerobic exercise increases the flow of blood to the area which stimulates the healing. For patients with severe pain, the doctor may recommend water therapy for pain management. Water offers buoyancy for the patients body and will reduce the stress on the joint.

    Sacroiliac Joint Injections

The primary reason for these injections is for the doctor to decide if the SJ is actually the cause of the pain. It also is a form of pain management because it provides the patient immediate pain relief.

Part of the injection is an anesthetic that is injected at the same time as the anti-inflammatory medication. It will help to reduce the inflammation that is around the joint and alleviates the patients pain. Afterward, the patient will have immediate pain relief and can start a physical therapy program as well as return to their normal activities.

Real Estate Investment Trusts—A Long-Term Investment Strategy

Real Estate Investment Trusts—A Long-Term Investment Strategy

Image source: https://image.slidesharecdn.com/realestateinvestmenttrust-141212011105-conversion-gate01/95/understanding-of-reit-structure-and-impact-on-real-estate-industry-12-638.jpg?cb=1419300997

Real estate investment trusts (REITs) are for-profit trusts established by Congress in 1960. Their purpose is to give small investors an opportunity to invest in large, income-producing properties.

Stocks of many public REITs are available on major stock exchanges and offer investors an efficient way of investing in real estate. Each shareholder earns a pro-rata share of the REIT profits. There are also private-owned REITs which operate in much the same manner.

Overall, these trusts are definitely a long-term investment strategy, but a good one for people who don't have the time or inclination to be full-time investors. Within the public and private REIT categories there are several types of trusts:

Equity REITs. These trusts own and operate income-producing properties (e.g. shopping centers, apartments, office buildings, warehouses, hotels, etc.). They may specialize in a certain market sector and in a certain geographic location, or they may invest nationally.

Mortgage REITs. These trusts concentrate on the financing end of the business. They tend to be real estate property owners and operators or, they provide indirect credit through buying loans (e.g. Ginnie Mae mortgage-backed securities, etc.). The revenue from these latter trusts comes mainly from interest earned on their mortgage loans.

Hybrid REITs. These trusts combine the investment strategies of both equity REITs and mortgage REITs. Qualifications for Public REITs To qualify as a public REIT, a company must, in general: Pay at least 90% of its taxable income to its shareholders every year. Have at least 100 shareholders. Invest at last 75 percent of its total assets in real estate. Derive at least 75% of its income from rent or mortgage interest from properties in its portfolio.

Advantages of Public REITS.These trusts have several advantages: There is no required minimum. They have a lower risk compared to stocks. They are a good income source and provide a consistent stream of income. No public market fluctuations As of 2005, all REITs had produced a 10.68% return over a 20-year period. (Source: National Association of Real Estate Trusts) REITs provide good dividends, but they are taxable) They offer diversification and, thus, more safety. They offer high liquidity; it's easy to enter and exit a REIT.

A REIT corporation or trust generally doesn't pay corporate income tax to the IRS or to the state.

Disadvantages of Public REITs. A downturn in a specific investment area can seriously damage a REIT investment. However, this possibility can be reduced by investing in REITs that own diversified companies within a variety of industry sectors.

Another disadvantage of public REITs is that they generally don't perform as well as the stock market on a long-term historical basis. Privately-Owned REITs These trusts possess all of the advantages of public REITs. However, they tend to generate higher income and pay out higher dividends (6-7% compared to a pubic REITs' 5-6%.

In terms of disadvantages, the upfront fees can be higher than with public REITS and such trusts are also not as liquid. In other words, it can be tougher to cash out than with public REITs.

A third potential disadvantage is limited transparency; that is, investors may not know exactly what the trustees are doing on a day-to-day basis. Methods of Investing in REITs You can buy shares of individual companies, or you can invest in diversified REIT mutual funds. It's very easy to invest through such vehicles as an IRA, Keogh, etc. You can also invest through borrowed money to buy REIT shares on margin.

Key Point: Use REITs for long-term investing strategy.

Protect Your Ears While You Still Can 4 Ways to Save Your Hearing

Protect Your Ears While You Still Can 4 Ways to Save Your Hearing

Image source: https://www.wikihow.com/images/thumb/6/6a/Annoy-Your-Older-Brother-Without-Getting-in-Trouble-Step-13-Version-2.jpg/aid5127033-v4-728px-Annoy-Your-Older-Brother-Without-Getting-in-Trouble-Step-13-Version-2.jpg

Protect Your Ears While You Still Can: 4 Ways to Save Your Hearing

Sure, we all love going to concerts or loud sporting events. But the truth is this can really damage our hearing. Read on to learn how to protect your ears.

Are you a musician or concert-goer who is constantly exposed to very loud music? Are you a sports buff that loves the thrill of watching the game with thousands of other fans?

Theres nothing wrong with either of these awesome hobbies. However, not taking care of your ears before engaging in either of them could be dangerous to your health.

We put together a guide to protecting your ears the right way so you can enjoy all the loud music and fun sporting events you want. Check out these top four ways to protect your ears!

Four Ways To Properly Protect Your Hearing

You dont have to give up on your favorite loud activities to save your hearing. These methods are so easy, youll wonder why you didnt think of them first.

4. Use earplugs.

Earplugs may seem uncomfortable and unnecessary, but they are far from either. And when nearly a quarter of people in the United States suffer from noise-induced hearing problems, there really isnt a reason for a person to not invest in earplugs.

Earplugs are typically made from a soft foam that blocks out sound while protecting your hearing from being damaged.

Specialty earplugs for musicians or concert fans are typically built with filters and special materials that allows a person to hear words and conversations while reducing the harsh sound or music playing.

A pack of earplugs is usually less than a couple bucks, so what do you have to lose?

3. Give yourself recovery time.

If you are a musician, give your ears a break every once in a while. Loud music exposure for an excessive amount of time can significantly contribute to hearing loss.

Were not saying you need to give up on band practice or concerts. What a musician or concert enthusiest should do is step outside or into a quiet space for five minutes every couple hours or so to give their ears some recovery time.

If youve had a particularly loud night the previous night, try staying in a quiet place for most of the next day. The ratio of ear recovery time to loud exposure time is around 2:1, meaning that one long loud night will need a good sixteen hours of recovery time.

2. Cut down on q-tips.

Sure, they feel heavenly and get out some gunk, but try to refrain from sticking cotton swabs into your ear canal.

This will only push debris and wax further into your ear, which can damage your ear drum.

Be mindful and only use q-tips to clear out the outside of your ear.

1. Invest in quality hearing care services.

If you think your hearing has been significantly damaged or you want to see a licensed specialist about preventative care, you should definitely consider visiting a hearing care provider.

While all of these tips can be effective, seeing an ear doctor for a thorough evaluation, as well as access to hearing care devices and instruments if needed, is the best route to take.

Past Experience, New RelationshipIs it Baggage

Past Experience, New RelationshipIs it Baggage

Image source: https://www.twinings.co.uk/TwiningsUKI/media/product/XMAS17FEH0917/3-Discovery-Collection-Enchanting-Forest-Fruits-Black-Tea-Pyramid-Tea-Bags.png

We are nothing, if not the sum total of our experiences, but when is it "baggage" and when is it not.

Baggage is when youre weighed-down by past experiences, stuck and unable to move forward from the weight. We think of it along with such terms as dumping it, getting rid of it, carrying extra weight, and so forth. In other words, in negative terms. The GOOD things, we dont refer to as baggage. We use terms like happy memories. Bad memories are a different story, especially if theyre still alive.

Heavy negative baggage will keep you from getting where you want to go.

What are some of the things we need to get rid of in order to have a good new relationship? Basically, anything not resolved that makes us feel uneasy, negative or defensive.

Lets take a look at some:

1. Anything you have anger or resentment about.

We can tell on a date when suddenly the person flares up and starts in. You ask a simple question such as, When you travel do you like ships or cars or airplanes?" and out comes a tirade about the former spouse's preferences and demands. The appropriate answer would be, I prefer cruises.

2. Anything youre not willing to talk openly about.

Lets say your new partner asks you what you did last night, and you say, None of your business, or What concern of that is yours? This shows lack of trust, that youre hiding something, or that youre really not willing to share your life. It also creates mistrust. My client Mary (not her real name) saw her new love had sent an email to an old flame and asked him if he was still seeing her. He replied, What makes you think thats any of your business? Uh oh.

3. Something that makes you feel uneasy thats just an ordinary thing.

Spencer and Helen headed out on a date. When Helen discovered they were going to an Oktoberfest, she refused to go. Allan and I used to go to Oktoberfest all the time, she said. Spencer had to wonder if she was ready for a new relationship, and who would blame him?

4. Anything from the past that requires a consuming amount of your time or energy.

This can be financial problems, child custody arrangements you have not yet smoothed out, or a former spouse with whom you have not really cut the ties emotionally, physically, or otherwise.

5. Anything the person is preoccupied about.

Leave Elizabeth alone for 5 minutes, and she starts ruminating about the woman her ex-husband had an affair with. Do you think hes still with her? she asks.

This is a sign that her emotions are still tied up with the former spouse, and she is not ready to enjoy them with a new partner.

6. Problems with children.

I bring this one up because, as Step-Parenting Expert for a major website, I hear the stories. Children whose parents have divorced, deserve top priority in their adjustment to the new circumstances. You will (and should) remain emotionally invested in getting this situation in place until it's accomplished. If it's chaotic, this doesn't allow emotional energy for a new love.

7. Sexual Problems.

Most people who divorce eventually have problems in every area, including sexual. It can take some time to recover from this, if it has occurred. If you were still getting along great, youd still be married, and chances are you werent getting along too great in bed. Or the opposite where a couple has divorced and still spends the night together occasionally. This is heavy baggage, a sign you are nowhere near ready to move on.

Baggage can be thoughts you dwell on, or they can be challenging circumstances you still need to resolve, such as debts, moving, or a new job.

Whatever it is, it pays to get them worked through before you attempt a new relationship. Relationships call for sharing and openness, a clear emotional playing field, and emotional, physical and mental energy to spare. You want to be yourself, and have a partner who is, emotionally available and fully present in the relationship.

If youre harboring old grudges, still half in love with your former partner, hate your former partner (still intensely involved emotionally), are still entangled with them financially, or over-reacting to ordinary things (He stroked his tie just the way Ben used to and I hate that!) you need to stop where you are, and give yourself some more time.

Coaching can help you can get things in perspective and talk about some of the things to someone other than a potential love. Its only fair to clear the decks of baggage before you set sail again.

If youre on the receiving end of what appears to be baggage, give it a good look. Do not get involved in it. For instance, if he mentions his ex-wife once, just listen. Dont say anything. Continue this if he mentions her again. This may go on for a while, but it should play itself out. It was part of his life, after all. If it continues after what seems like a reasonable time, unfortunately this man is not ready for a new relationship. Bless him and send him on his way.

Offense and Pride Lead to Alienation

Offense and Pride Lead to Alienation

Image source: https://cdn3.vox-cdn.com/thumbor/p-ZJW-bKO6u8uj_eX36ielbL57Q=/0x0:2600x1463/1600x900/cdn0.vox-cdn.com/uploads/chorus_image/image/47184674/usa-today-8801006.0.jpg

What does pride have to do with offense, and how do they relate to unforgiveness and result in alienation from God and loved ones? It's hard to see most of the time, especially when you're right. We've all been there, haven't we?
Let's consider the following scenario. You and your brother are both invited to a very special party in honor of a mutual friend. Your brother had been planning for this party for weeks and carefully picked out a beautiful gift which he knew his friend would appreciate.

Your gift, on the other hand, had been hurriedly purchased on the way with little regard as to whether or not your friend would like it. The recipient absolutely loves your brother's gift and makes quite a show of it. You feel the blood rushing up into your face as your friend reaches for your gift. Rage is beginning to rise up. You are mad at your brother for giving something that highly accentuates the contrast between his and yours. Sure enough; you are thoroughly humiliated in front of everyone for your contribution.

As you stomp out the door, you friend follows you, asking why you are mad. You don't say anything. You're not trying to defend your choice of a gift; you just want to get out of there. Now you're mad at your friend as well as your brother!

What happens if you should wander off, ignore the pleas of your friend and brother, and sulk alone with your thoughts? Soon your thoughts will be taking a hold of you and confirm that indeed you have the right to be mad.

You know that your gift was far below the quality you really would have loved to have given your special friend. You also know that your brother had brought a present worthy of appreciation for a true and faithful comrade. After all, this particular friend would risk his own life to save yours.

You now have become jealous of your brother and resentful of your very best friend for being disappointed. He has done so much for you both and you rewarded him with a trinket and attitude of nonchalance. It was a symbol of ingratitude and irreverence.

What happens when jealousy controls you? Could it be a sign that you consider yourself better than the other person? If the other has been commended for his generosity, then why shouldn't the quality of your gift as well as yourself be overlooked? After all, it shouldn't be the cost of the gift that counts, right?

Ah! But doesn't the gift reflect the giver's heart? The guest of honor discerned the heart, and consequently gave you ample chance to explain and ask for forgiveness.

Isn't that a picture of God? Doesn't He give you everything and want the very best for you? He deserves to be honored at all times, whether you feel like it or not. He is looking for those who give with a cheerful heart; not out of duty.

Abel gave the first, perfect lamb from his flock of the season with a heart full of gratitude and reverence to God. Cain gave an offering of fruit and vegetables. (Gen. 4: 3-4) It does not specify whether it had been the first, most precious produce or should have been a lamb as a blood sacrifice. God knew that Cain's heart was not in his gift.

God showed himself as a benevolent Father when He asked Cain why he was angry. He not only gave Cain the chance to ask for forgiveness, but also warned him about the consequences of his actions if he did not. God reminded him that, if he showed humility and obedience, he would be accepted. However, if he chose not to do so, then sin would rule his life. (Gen 4: 7)

You know the rest of the story of how he allowed jealousy to seethe into pride, which eventually led him to commit murder. Even then, God in His role of judge, gave him another chance. Instead, Cain showed contempt of the Judge by first lying and then retorting with an angry question.

Humility humbles sinners to ask for forgiveness. Jealousy, on the other hand, if allowed to influence the mind, will progress into pride. Pride transformed the most beautiful archangel into God's worst enemy. Don't allow it to to take a hold in your life.

No matter how great a sinner you think you may be, God is waiting to forgive you. And... when He forgives, He forgets!

"I, even I, am he that blotteth out thy transgressions for mine own sake, and will not remember thy sins."

Yes; He refuses to remember your sins for His own sake! Not for yours - but His! He does not want to look on sin; He is Love!

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His Word is not in us." (1 John 1: 8-10)

Networking- A Skill That Every Investor Needs

Networking- A Skill That Every Investor Needs

Real estate investment is a people businesseveryone knows that. But, more importantly, it's a networking business.

By that I mean you have to build a network of individuals who can help you build a secure investment future. By the same token, you must be prepared to help members of your network in turn, so they can build their own investment futures and businesses.

In plain words, it's absolutely necessary to build mutually beneficial relationships with the people around you in order to succeed in the investment business.

The purpose of this article is to show you the three levels of real estate networking and how to build and maintain relationships within those levels.

Level 1: The Strategists To build an investment career, you should gather a group of people immediately around you that make up your "inner circle." These are people whom you trust completely to offer you sound advice on investments and other aspects of your life. Members of Level 1 depend upon your type of investment, but can include:

Mentors Partners Fellow entrepreneurs Real Estate Agents Contractors, etc.

These are people who think strategically; i.e., they're always looking ahead to future opportunities while keeping an eye on the present. If you like to think in military terms, these are the generals of your investment army.

They're also people willing to help you develop personally as well as in a business sense. Of course, you should do the same for them. They'll give you advice and support when you need it and will expect the same from you. Look to these individuals to guide you toward the right people and the right projects. In effect, you want them to open doors for you into good investments, and you, in turn, will open doors for them.

Level 2: The Financial People The next level is the one with all your financial people; e.g., accountants, bankers, brokers, lenders, tax attorneys, other private investors, etc. Think of this level as being more tactical than strategic.

By that, I mean they're involved in every transaction and give you specific advice on terms of contracts, details of construction/remodeling, and the like. Again, thinking in military terms, these are your mid-level officers (colonels, majors, captains, etc.) who execute your orders.

Level 3: Service People The individuals in this level are the specialists in your network; i.e., they perform very specific functions for particular properties. They include independent contractors like painters, electricians, inspectors, appraisers, etc.

They're the infantry soldiers of your investment army. They're on the front lines getting the actual physical work done. Remember, no investment deal is ever won without "grunts." So, you want the best and most cost-effective service people you can find. Treat them well and fairly and work to develop long-term relationships with them. Such relationships will pay off in greater profits and fewer problems. Recommendations for Maintenance of the Three Levels Keep in regular touch with members of all three levels to keep communications open. Don't limit communications to just business matters. Show that you care about them as individuals by asking about their families, latest successes, golf scores, etc. even when they're not involved in one of your deals.

In short, build relationships on a personal as well as a business level and then maintain those relationships through regular contact. Share your expertise and knowledge. This can be something as simple as sending them an article on their area of business. Or, you can recommend people or projects you think will fit their particular business interests, etc.

Treat everyone well and honestly. It's imperative to build trust on all three levels. Never, ever treat anyone in the three levels poorly. Believe me, if you mistreat someone, word will get around faster than the speed of light, and your business will suffer.

I can't stress enough the importance of building a network. It's the absolute key to a great investment career! Without contacts and great relationships, your future in real estate deals will not be successful or less successful than you'd like it to be. So, work hard to gather the three levels of people about you. And, always, always, give back to the individuals who help you succeed. It's not only the right thing to do; it's the smartest business decision you'll ever make.

Key Point: You'll go nowhere in the real estate business without building a network, so make it a priority to grow the best one possible.

Natural Cooking- Siddha Cooking- Ayurvedic Cooking

Natural Cooking- Siddha Cooking- Ayurvedic Cooking

-Dr Commander Selvam SRI Sri Selvam Siddhar of Hindu Temple of California, USA

Ayurveda is a Sanskrit word which is actually a linking of two words: ayur means life and veda means knowledge. So Ayurveda is a system of knowledge, not just medical knowledge but knowledge about life and knowledge of the self. Ayurveda has survived to this day because it has been continuously in practice for the last 5,000 years. It guides a person toward a life style, a choice of foods and how to cook them.

According to Ayurveda we are made up of the same five elements as the universe (Water, Fire, Air, Earth and Space) when we are close to these elements or at one with them and nature, then there is perfect balance in the energies (the Doshas) within us and we enjoy good health.

All the complex factors that influence our health can be simplified into three fundamental constitutional types called Vata (air), Pitta (fire) and Kapha (water) these are called the "three Doshas". The main purpose of all Ayurvedic treatments is to establish balance in these three elemental constitutional types, as an imbalance leads to the direct causes of physical diseases. When you are in balance you experience a zest for life. Your appetite is good, your bodily tissues and processes are functioning normally and your body, mind and senses remain full of bliss. In the physical universe around us these three natural influences or Doshas are also active and found in our environment, in ourselves and in the food we eat. Both the physical body and food are made up of the five essential elements; Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space. Ayurvedic food creates a natural balance between these essential elements within the body when prepared using the correct amount of the six Ayurvedic tastes ; Sweet, Salty, Sour, Pungent, Astringent and Bitter. The six tastes have their own unique elemental compositions giving them special healing properties. A balanced diet will have healthy combinations of these.

Sweet Taste (Earth and Water elements)
Sweet taste food is considered the most nourishing.
They provide valuable vitamins and minerals to the body that are needed to assimilate the sugars. Food that falls under these categories is whole grain cereal, breads, pasta, rice, seeds and nuts. Many fruit and vegetable are also sweet as well. Eating something sweet satisfies our immediate hunger; it increases the energy level in our body and also has a calming effect. But excessive use of sweet food unbalances the cycle, and leads to obesity and diabetes.

Sour Taste (Earth and Fire elements)
Sour taste food that falls into these categories are buttermilk, sour cream, yogurt and cottage cheese.
Most half ripe fruit are also sour. Consumption of sour food increases your appetite; it also increases your saliva flow and digestive juices. Over eating sour food will render our body more prone to aches and cramps.

Salty Taste (Water and Fire elements)
naturally salty food such as kelp and seaweed helps cleanse the body and tone the adrenal glands, kidneys, prostate and thyroid gland. It contains potassium, iodine that helps balance sodium. Process salt which is devoid of its natural balancing elements increases retention of fluids in the body, thus affecting the kidneys, and putting pressure on the blood vessels and all organ systems. Overall it can cause toxins to be retained in the body.

Pungent Taste (Fire and Air elements)
Foods that are pungent include onion, Brussels sprouts, horseradish, ginger, mustard, chilli powder and rosemary. Pungent foods have high healing properties; they have the opposite effect from salty foods. It reduces the fluid content of tissues, improves breathing and improves concentrating power. Pungent herbs stimulate the mind and promote circulation in the brain. Over consumption of pungent taste food can aggravate insomnia, restlessness and anxiety.

Bitter Taste (Air and Ether elements)
Bitter foods are normally associate will green leaf vegetable, tea. Bitter taste food helps digestion and increases metabolic rate.

Astringent Taste (Air and Earth elements)
Astringent foods that come under this category are celery, cucumber, eggplant, lettuce, mushroom. Fruit like apple, avocados, berries, grapes and pear are also astringent. Astringent Taste fruit are often associated with cleansing of body fluids, blood, lymph and sweat. It also prevents capillary leakage; helps heal skin and mucus membranes and nerve tissue.
Foods can be of three types - Sattvic, Rajasic and Tamasic. Ayurveda emphasizes a Sattvic diet for healthy living and support a blissful state in both the mind and body. Sattvic diet was originally devised for the practice of yoga and the development of higher consciousness. Rajasic foods have an unsettling influence on the mind by disturbing or dulling the mind. Rajasic food is excessively spicy, salty and sour like onions, chillies, wines garlic, red meats and hot peppers. Tamasic foods cause hyperactivity, lethargy and excess sleep; they dull the senses and keep the emotions heavy and resistant. Tamasic food is stale, old, re cooked, artificial, overly fried, greasy or heavy foods. It includes all "dead" food such as meat and fish and fermented foods and alcoholic substances. Both Rajasic and Tamasic foods are lacking in their ability to support a balanced, harmonious mind-body experience.

THE THREE CONSTITUTIONAL TYPES: VATA, PITTA AND KAPHA
The concept of constitutional type states that we are all similar (after all we are the same species), but we also have many differences. Ayurvedic medicine recorded the differences it observed in the human population and noted that people have three basic tendencies or archetypal reactions in various situations. Over a lifetime, the tendency toward one reaction over the other two will give us a constitutional type. The three constitutional types have different physiologies. Their nervous systems are set at different tensions. They eat and digest foods differently. They have different preferences, and different foods upset them. When they are upset, they have a tendency to express different emotions. Most people are a combination of the different types, so it takes some observation to determine how much of each type is in a person. We can get an idea of what a person is like even before they have an illness and can offer some preventive approaches. Once we know what constitutional type the person is, we know what type of environmental stimuli, what kinds of foods, cooking techniques, colours, clothing, or sleep patterns are better for him. Some of these influences will be imbalancing to one type but not to another.

Ayurvedic foods are often linked to their healing powers that have medical-health benefits, including prevention and treatment of disease. Yet choosing the right combination of foods has never been easy. Food has a powerful effect on the mind, emotions, physical and immune responses of the body. The effect of a particular food has on a person's depends on many factors, such as body mass, allergy etc. Ayurvedic cooking focuses on easier digestion and the bodys capability of extracting the nutritional essence of the food we consume.

If ones diet is out of balance then the fundamental influences of Vata, Pitta and Kapha become unbalanced. With the right foods, spices and preparation one can improve diet and maintain balance in the influences of Vata, Pitta and Kapha in any meal. A basic spice combination that balances all three influences in the body, Vata, Pitta and Kapha are Turmeric, Cumin and Coriander. These three basic spices make a delicious curry powder you can use for any dish. The proportions are Turmeric 1 part, Cumin 2 parts, Coriander 3 parts. Using these spices freshly ground from the whole seeds with fresh ginger or cilantro, the fresh leaf of the coriander plant, makes any dish a blissful and balancing experience.

Ayurveda also recommends different diets for different seasons to help the body acclimatize itself seasonally. For example, during the summer which is the Pitta season when one is prone to acne and sunburn, eating cool light fruits and salads are recommended for helping the imbalances of the Pitta Dosha.

Ayurvedic cooking advises eating fresh foods as it provides the maximum amount of energy, it does not encourage eating leftovers or processed food as a daily habit as they lack vital energy. Ayurvedic cooking principles also recommend that vegetables be cooked rather than consumed raw since cooking improves digestion.

Joy is also a necessary ingredient for a fully balanced diet. Enjoying a delicious diet using fresh seasonable wholesome foods, herbs and spices, has a great positive effect on our health and well- being. Having all six tastes in a meal and satisfying all five senses activates the digestive processes so that we can fully assimilate the food we eat. Truly, variety is the spice of life. A diverse variety of tastes, textures, colours, food types and spices all stimulate the digestive processes, nourishing the physiology to maintain balance in Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

As an Ayurvedic cook the most important ingredient we have to offer while cooking a meal is our own blissful loving intention. When we make something for someone we give something that is personal. This can truly be a gift divine. Our love and bliss goes directly into the food we are preparing and becomes lively in those who enjoy it.

Low Maintenance to No Maintenance: 3 Simple Landscape Ideas

Theres something about having a beautiful yard that can appeal to every homeowner. Imagine the compliments from people that pass by, how great your house will look, and how the property value could increase.

After you think about that, then you can think about all of the time itll take to maintain your landscape vision. Landscaping can produce breathtaking results, but it can also take a lot of time and money to maintain.

Imagine if you could have a simple landscape that can turn heads and not break the bank or take up all of your free time. It may not seem possible, but you can have a beautiful lawn without having to complicate things.

Simple Landscape for Beginners

Every beautiful landscape doesnt have to start with a complicated layout and exotic plants. You can have a beautiful yard with little fuss if you do the right things.

Are you ready to finally have a simple, low maintenance yard that will turn heads? If you follow these three tips, youll have everything you need.

Utilize Rocks

Do you not want to spend a lot of time maintaining plants? Then dont make them the centerpiece of your yard!

Curious about how you focus on something that isnt a plant in your yard? The answer is simple, just use rocks. Rocks of all shapes and sizes can be used as decor pieces, way-finding paths, or just a way to not have to deal with tending to lots of different flowers and pushes.

When it comes to a simple landscape, you cant go wrong with rocks. Create a rock garden that can be the centerpiece of your yard, or consider placing some boulders around the yard.

Think About A Synthetic Lawn

One time-consuming part of landscaping involves lawn maintenance. Youll spend a lot of time on your mower if you want a beautiful landscape. Grass thats too short or too long could throw off the look you want.

If you want a truly simple landscape you can enjoy, you cant go wrong with synthetic plants. Products like multiturf can give you the dream lawn youve always wanted without having to worry about mowing or water.

Synthetic lawns have come a long way since their creation, and now you can barely tell the difference between fake and real grass. It doesnt just look real, it also feels like a real lawn! Youll also have the added benefit of not having to deal with pests.

Use Low Maintenance Plants

When it comes to plant maintenance, some need more help than others. Certain flower species and trees may look gorgeous, but they could require a lot of work so they can thrive.

If you want to have a unique landscape thats also low maintenance, go for plants that thrive with little care. One simple way to do this is to plant native species that already thrive in your environment.

If youre looking for plants that do well in general, start with some that are known for their low-maintenance care. Daisies, violets, and lavender look great and dont require a lot of care.

Do you have any tips for people that want low maintenance yards? Tell us about it in our comments!

In Case of Emergency: When to Call an Emergency Electrician

Electricity is tricky.

And working with it can be dangerous.

When something goes funky with your electricity, its not like clearing a clogged drain or patching a hole in the wall. Electrical issues are best left to the experts.

Some electrical repairs are more dangerous than others.

If youre wondering when is the right time to call an emergency electrician, here are eight situations that require immediate action:

1. Exposed Wires

Any time you see exposed wires, its a big deal. Exposed wires greatly increase the risk of electrocution and fire and remedy an immediate repair.

Period.

2. Wires in the Water

Like exposed wires, wires in water is really dangerous.

This situation is usually the result of nasty weather putting water where it normally wouldnt be. (We will just assume there arent wires casually soaking in water around your house.)

If someone or something comes into contact with the water or an object within the water, the outcome could easily be electrocution or fire.

If you see wires in water, do not hesitate to call an emergency electrician.

3. Smoking Outlets

Smoking is no longer cool. But it never has been for an electrical outlet.

This one should go without saying but if your outlet is smoking, theres a serious problem. Turn off the circuit breaker and call the fire department.

Once youre sure theres nothing burning in the wall, call an electrician to resolve the issue.

4. Only Your Electricity Is Out

If its only your home in the neighborhood that has lost electricity, that could be a bad sign. In this situation, you may need assistance.

It may not be a dire situation, but its best to not take chances. Turn to a 24-hour emergency service to take care of the issue.

5. A Persistent Issue

If a particular appliance or source of light is giving you continuous problems for more than an hour, youll want to call an electrician right away for preventative repairs.

To call this an actual emergency might be a stretch, but depending on the issue at hand and the nature of the appliance, its better to be safe than sorry.

6. Buzzing and Humming

Loud buzzing or humming from your child is annoying.

But when it comes from a breaker box, it could be extremely dangerous, as it often indicates a faulty breaker that has poor wiring or is failing to trip.

You really dont want to expose your home to a wide variety of electrical failures, so get an emergency electrician in there ASAP.

7. Burning or Pungent Smells

Smells that resemble burnt plastic should be taken seriously.

Sure, you could try to blame the bad smell on the cook in the kitchen, but in doing so, youre quickly at risk of losing your home to an electrical fire.

That smell could indicate damaged wires in your home. So shut off power to the problematic area and call an emergency electrician right away.

8. Signs of Burnt Wiring or Overloaded Outlets

And finally, blackened or brown marks around your in-home outlets are not only unsightly, but they are a sign that the outlets are most likely overloading and getting much too hot.

You do not want this, so call an emergency electrician for sure if youve got overloaded outlets.

Bottom line, if you ever have any doubts about electrical issues in your home, it never hurts to call an electrician. Even if it ends up not being a true emergency situation, let them decide.

Theyd much rather you be safe than sorry.

How Your Business Can Develop Spanish Marketing

How Your Business Can Develop Spanish Marketing

Studies show that not only is the Spanish speaking market growing, but marketing in Spanish isnt as simple as hiring a translator. Your companys Spanish marketing plan needs to be as culturally aware as it is grammatically correct.

As the Hispanic market grows in both size and spending power, its natural for businesses to want to expand their customer base to be more inclusive. Welcoming diversity to your customer base also shows the power of your product.

In order to develop a plan to include the growing Spanish-speaking market, follow these three tips.

1. Follow Trends

With most consumers watching nearly an hour a day of video on social media, Spanish-speaking mobile users average slightly more with over 8 hours a week. Thats a whole lot of 10 to 60-second Instagram boomerangs and Snapchats.

Finding a way to cleverly fit into that screen time will yield the results youre looking for. Study other campaigns to strategize tactics to make your content go viral.

The top Hispanic channels on YouTube are constantly growing in subscribers and viewership. Universal has even created a Latino-centric channel on YouTube. They offer content and clips in Spanish as well as contests and promotional materials to target the Spanish-speaking audience.

Look at what products other companies are offering to download services. The design of Locopelis follows other sites but strongly asserts, in Spanish, Locopelis descargar peliculas completas.

2. Offer Options

Simply translating your existing campaigns into Spanish isnt enough for a Hispanic audience. With Spanish-speakers coming from South America, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Spain and more, you cant reach everyone with just a linguistic swap.

Googles tracking of searches shows that Spanish-speaking users will often search in English or with a mix of Spanish and English terms. This means that your Spanish marketing needs to engage different ways that your audience consumes media.

If you can offer options on your site, app or product space to choose a language, youll find your audience more dedicated. Think about making every campaign bilingual and track what kinds of results you end up with.

3. Go Beyond Language

With the wide variety of Spanish speakers coming from different backgrounds, language is perhaps the only thing your markets will have in common. Think about the social or familial narratives that your customers will have.

A Puerto Rican audience is one that includes two full generations of American citizenship. The narrative of how they get to their product is different than Mexican-Americans, who tend to live more on the west coast and southwest regions.

Targeting people who come to the US from Spain is entirely different. They bring European sensibilities and will likely be from a higher income bracket.

Use actors, musicians, and artists who come from the regions youre targeting. Dont generalize or make assumptions and youll be far ahead of most companies.

Spanish Marketing Takes Time

Dont expect your Spanish-speaking customer base to flood your site or stores because you added translation capabilities. Listen to the audience that youre targeting. Hold some feedback sessions in exchange for your product and be willing to take criticism.

Allow this data to drive your content. For more information on how data can lead you in the right direction, read our list of helpful tips.

How To Stop Kitchen Chairs From Scratching Hardwood Floors

How To Stop Kitchen Chairs From Scratching Hardwood Floors

If you are reading this article you have probably just put new hardwood floor into your kitchen or are looking to protect the floor you already have from being torn or scratched by your kitchen chairs. This article is going to tell you how to stop kitchen chairs from scratching hardwood floors.

One of the things you can do is to make chair leg covers for the very bottom of the legs. By putting leg covers on the bottom of the chairs legs you will be able to make sure the chairs do not scratch the hardwood floors. An example of a leg cover you could use is a pincushion.

If you cut the tops off of four pincushions, remove the stuffing, and hem the edges back together, you are able to put them on the bottom of the chairs. If the opening is too big for the chair leg you just need to stitch a narrow piece of elastic around the top edge to make it tight around the chair.

Other things that you can use to cover the bottom of the chair legs are hacky-sack balls, small doll pillows, or even tennis balls. All you have to do is cut a small portion off of the top of each of these items and slide them into the leg.

If you are a more crafty person you are able to make your own chair leg covers. All you are going to need is a small piece of a heavy fabric like felt, denim, or faux fur. To begin you will need to cut a 4" diameter circle. Take the circle and hem it by folding the fabric under a quarter of an inch twice and stitch around the hem. Place an 8" elastic strip next to the edge of the hem and stitch around it.

You probably are trying to make the leg covers not noticeable and you probably think an elastic strip is going to stand out. The way to prevent the elastic from standing out is to hide it within the hem. The way to do this is to place the elastic next to the edge of the fabric before you sew the hem. You will need to fold the fabric slightly over the elastic. This makes the sewing more difficult, but hides the elastic.

Chair leg covers are the best way to stop kitchen chairs from scratching hardwood floors. This article has given you some of the many ways to make chair leg covers to place over your chair legs. If you follow these ways you will be on your way to enjoying your hardwood floors without having to worry about scratching them.

How To Stay Fit over 50 and Still Enjoy Eating

How To Stay Fit over 50 and Still Enjoy Eating

As we get older our body composition changes. This is often a result of becoming less active, which leads to a decrease in our basal metabolic rate (BMR).

With less muscle to burn calories, we may find that we cant eat as much as we used to without gaining weight. Other changes in hormones, tastes, energy levels, and nutrient absorption can also impact our fitness levels and health.

However, staying fit over 50 doesnt mean that you cant still enjoy eating. Learn how to get the balance right with these great tips.

Stay Active

Many people think that our metabolism decreases as we get older, but this isnt true.

What actually happens is that our activity levels decrease and we lose muscle mass as a result. With less muscle the body needs less energy, so food is stored as fat rather than burned off. Our basal metabolic rate (BMR) then slows down as the composition of our bodies change.

The simplest way to counteract a slowing BMR is to stay active. Walking is a good, fairly low-impact exercise that will help to burn calories and maintain muscle mass. Walking is also great for the heart and helps to boost your mood.

Other low-impact exercises to try include gardening, swimming, yoga, and Pilates.

Cut Calories, Not Taste

With small changes to the meals you love you can save a lot of calories and still enjoy eating.

Many people find that reducing their intake of carbohydrates helps them to stay in shape. Why not try spaghetti squash as an alternative to pasta? And even if youre not much of a baker, this low carb bread recipe is delicious and simple to make.

Alternatively, you can make small changes to the products you consume every day, such as opting for low fat dairy over full fat versions. Many taste exactly the same but pack in a lot fewer calories.

Another great tip is to try to make more meat-free meals. Try a bean Bolognese or make a stew with veggies and lentils. Youll cut calories and saturated fat drastically by skipping meat a couple of nights a week.

Consider Supplements

Another key part of staying fit is maintaining good health.

Our bodies become less efficient at absorbing some nutrients as we get older, so its important to make the calories we consume as nutrient-dense as possible to stay healthy.

Without key vitamins, it can be hard for your body to process food correctly into energy, meaning that you may feel tired and sluggish. You may also put yourself at risk of infections and more serious illnesses.

Some of the nutrients you may be lacking include Folic Acid, Vitamin B12, Calcium, Vitamin D, Fiber, and Omega-3 Fats.

Its always preferable to get nutrients through your diet but you may need to consider taking supplements. Consult your doctor to discuss your diet and whether supplements could help you stay fit over 50.

Drink Water

Our sense of thirst also reduces as we get older, so it might not be so easy to tell when were dehydrated.

Drinking water can help reduce hunger, boosts energy and facilitates digestion.

And not drinking enough water can cause urinary tract infections and lead to memory problems, so getting enough water is beneficial for our physical and mental health.

Keep small bottles of water in your fridge and drink from them regularly, even if you dont feel particularly thirsty. You should aim for around eight cups per day for good health.

Sleep Well

Staying fit at any age is all about balance. As well as your diet and activity level, getting enough sleep is an important part of that.

As well as giving you the chance to rest your mind and body, sleep helps to regulate the hormones that control hunger signals. Not sleeping well can disrupt these signals and fool your brain into thinking youre hungry when youre not.

As we get older it can be harder to enjoy a good nights sleep, possibly because of hormonal factors, physical discomfort or changes to our oxygen intake.

If youre finding it hard to sleep at night then these simple solutions to help you sleep better should help.

How to Stay Fit Over 50

Staying fit over 50 doesnt mean that you cant enjoy eating the same foods or that you have to make any drastic changes.

With small sustainable changes to your lifestyle and diet, you can maintain good health and keep fit for many years to come.

How To Start a Trout Farming Business

How To Start a Trout Farming Business

Trout farming has become an industry that reached its plateau more than two decades ago having experienced a rapid growth phase during the 1970s and 1980s. However there is still opportunity for somebody with access to the appropriate resources to develop a lucrative sideline business farming trout.

For a mainstream trout farm investment it is necessary to look for a production unit capable of producing at least two to three hundred tons each year in order to make the investment worth while. Unfortunately there are no longer any suitable sites available that would support this level of production and any that are still undeveloped would likely be more suitable for more profitable enterprises these days.

However, for landowners or persons with access to a small plot of land, which need be no more than an acre in size, and a suitable water supply, it is possible to develop a lucrative side line business farming trout.

The important aspect of the water supply is that it is not only of sufficient quantity and quality, but also flows uninterrupted 24 hours each day. It is no good if the supply dries up in the summer or is vulnerable to a farmer upstream closing a valve or dumping a load of waste fertilizer in it!

The most cost efficient method for getting started is to dig Danish style earth ponds and install glass fiber sluices at the inlets and outlets. These are easily available from aquaculture suppliers. The ponds should be filled and checked carefully for flow and integrity before fish are stocked. These will be added to the ponds one or more times a year from good quality hatcheries.

The ponds will be covered with netting to keep predatory herons and cormorants out and also have automatic fish feeders attached. It is possible to get these fabricated locally at low cost or they can again be purchased from an aquaculture supplier. They must be filled regularly with an appropriate size of trout pellet for the size of fish that is bought from one of several commercial trout food producers.

The fish will take 12 to 18 months to grow to a portion size and may need grading along the way as trout tend to grow at different rates. When ready for harvesting the biggest will be graded out and the rest allowed to grow again until the next harvest date. Thus a smooth and regular output can be obtained.

For any landowner or person with access to a plot of land with a spring or stream setting up a modest trout farm business can provide a valuable side line income to any existing businesses.

How to Maximize Your First Massage Experience

How to Maximize Your First Massage Experience

Walking in for your first massage can be an odd experience for most. If youve never experienced the benefits of a massage, you may not know what to expect.

Do you wear clothes?

Do you tip your masseuse?

What should you eat or drink beforehand?

Its enough to stress anyone out! But the entire point of a body to body massage is the relieve tension and relax a bit.

Talk to Your Massage Therapist

Spend a few minutes before your massage to get to better know your masseuse. Talking is an easy way to put yourself at ease and can relieve some of the uncomfortable tension.

This is a great idea for first timers, as having a stranger put their hands on your body can be unsettling.

Take a few moments to chat with your massage therapist in a friendly manner. Ask them about their job and what theyd recommend during a first massage.

Some may prefer to have the specialist talk them through the process as it occurs.

You should take this time to let your masseuse know if you have any allergies to lotions or oils. Skin allergies are common, and you dont want anything ruining your tranquil mood.

Drink Lots of Water

In order to maximize your massage experience, youll want to make sure you stay hydrated. This includes both before and after the massage.

While a body to body massage is enough to put some at ease, theres a more scientific reason for the relaxing properties of a massage. A thorough deep tissue massage releases lactic acid buildup throughout your muscles.

Proper hydration can aid transportation, sending the acids flowing through your body faster. The debate over toxin release isnt quite settled, but all scientists agree that hydration is good no matter what.

Understand That Its Your Session

Much like a doctors visit or a therapy session, the patient should know that its their session.

This means that youre in control.

If you dont like something your masseuse is doing, you can politely ask them to stop. If you need something, you can ask for it. Dont be shy.

If youd prefer some light chitchat while your specialist works, thats alright too. But its also perfectly acceptable to ask for silence so you can focus on relaxing.

The key idea to take away is that youve got the power.

Ask About Aftercare

You should always ask your masseuse about what to expect post-massage. Youll likely feel a bit of tenderness or soreness for a few days.

This is normal and to be expected for a day or two after. It actually means that the massage did its job. If soreness lasts any longer, be sure to consult the massage studio immediately.

You may also experience an increased sense of focus. Believe it or not, massages can be great for productivity!

A massage is intended to be the perfect experience for you, a time to take care of yourself and to relax.

Make sure that you take the right steps to guarantee that its everything it should be. You deserve it.
